How long does it take you to do a painting?

Usually an afternoon, and sometimes weeks.

What type of media do you prefer to work in?

All types - and will try anything once. It's hard to name a favorite media, I love detail work, so pen & ink falls into that category. I love a challenge, so watercolor falls into that. When I'm not so serious and feeling fickle, I'll go with acrylics, because it allows me to change my mind frequently, and that goes with oils too.  Oils are very sensuous to me. The way you can blend on canvas and smell the linseed oil is something that cannot compare to any other media.
